Gun laws or policies have a direct effect on the rate of crimes and more specifically, violent crimes. First, there is a specific definition and circumstances to be considered a violent crime,”The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines violent crime as including forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, and murder or nonnegligent manslaughter.”(Rand) The last category nonnegligent manslaughter pertains to suicide, accidental, or law enforcement killing a felon.
